Cristen joined CEA in 2014. She oversees the accounting functions of the private equity funds, with a focus on the funds of Atlantic American Partners. In her role as Controller and Director of Financial Reporting, she is responsible for the following key areas:
• Quarterly and annual financial reporting and financial statement preparation
• General ledger management for funds and related entities
• Annual audit with independent auditors
• Treasury management
• Financial analysis for investment valuations, cash flow budgeting, and investor distributions
She works closely with the CEA and Atlantic American teams, ensuring proper internal controls and GAAP adherence, while providing valuable information to achieve collective investment and financial goals.
In addition to her role at CEA, Cristen is an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida, teaching undergraduate Financial Accounting. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as an Audit and Assurance Associate with Grant Thornton, LLP in Tampa. She also served as an Accounting Manager in various industries including Health Care, Construction, and Manufacturing.
Cristen earned both her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accountancy from the University of South Florida. She holds a CPA license in the state of Florida and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
