DEDICATED PROFESSIONAL, LONGTIME CEA VICE CHAIRMAN AND RENOWN INVESTMENT BANKER
Rick Michaels and CEA Group mourn the great loss of our longtime Vice Chairman, Harold Ewen, a dedicated professional and renowned investment banker committed to CEA's success, and an esteemed friend and colleague.
“Harold, whom I first met half a century ago, was my original mentor in the finance business. Much of CEA’s success was due to Harold’s leadership. Harold had many attributes, but I like to think of him as the kindest person that I have ever known. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.” – Rick Michaels
Harold joined CEA in 1982, first serving as President and dedicated himself to CEA for the next four decades. Harold had over sixty years of investment banking experience in related media industries and served as a senior executive board member for domestic and international commercial financing firms and private equity funds.
Active in the cable TV industry since the early 1960s, Harold was also an owner and an investor in cable television systems. He was inducted as a member of the Cable TV Pioneers in the Class of 1979.
A native of Indianapolis, Harold received his degree from Butler University and his law degree from Indiana School of Law. One of his favorite comments was “My law degree served me best in being able to understand the legal billing process and how best to avoid being overcharged.”
Harold is survived by his loving wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.
