Karima Serageldin joined CEA International LLP (“CEAI”) in late 2014. As a consultant with CEA, she brings combined transaction execution, strategic advisory and operational industry expertise in the digitally-enabled sectors, having led engagements in venture investment, corporate venturing, advisory, product management and global commercial partnerships.
Karima has a passion for identifying innovative companies, business models and strategies that deliver transformational growth regardless of stage. With over 20 years experience in the telecommunications, technology, software and digital media sectors, she has worked with a range of companies from European and US start-ups, to mid-cap UK companies and some of the largest and most influential global corporations. At MCI Inc (now Verizon) and Pipex Communications plc (incl. Oakley Capital, Pipex’s M&A/venture team), she was notably responsible for managing the vast majority of the Corporate divisions products, and was involved in transactions such as the acquisition of Bulldog from Cable & Wireless and a new WiMAX joint venture with Intel Capital.
More recently Karima has been backing digital companies in the venture capital sector (direct principal investment and syndication). She was a co-founder, Partner and Investment Committee member of a European based venture capital fund, and played a key role in both its set up and early principal investment. She was also a “Director” in its corporate advisory business where she advised a number of digital media and technology companies, several achieving exit and growth performance.
In addition to her work with CEAI, Karima is Founder and Managing Director of Northbright Capital Limited which provides corporate venturing and growth-based venture services to established blue-chip corporates and early/growth stage businesses in the technology sector, with particular focus around Cybersecurity, Big Data, Fintech, and Digital Media.
